About Jennifer:
Jennifer Deslippe, mother to a bright, bouncing 1 ½ year old daughter, has been practicing yoga since 1998 and teaching yoga since 2002. She came to yoga when Chronic Fatigue Syndrome prematurely ended her dance career. Inspired by how much yoga contributed to the transformation of her health, she became a certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor through Golden Bridge Yoga in Los Angeles, a studio which also specialized in Prenatal Yoga, founded by Prenatal Yoga pioneer Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa. Jennifer spent several years both working and teaching yoga at Golden Bridge, and also served as one of Gurmukh’s assistants for one year, during which time she developed a passion for the benefits of Prenatal Yoga for mothers, babies and families. In 2008, before Jennifer left for Iowa City and became a mother herself, she went through Golden Bridge’s Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training program, co-lead by Gurmukh, Certified Nurse Midwife Davi Kaur Khalsa, and Birth Doula/Birthing Advocate Anna Verwaal. She finds deep joy in watching the practical benefits of yoga unfold in all those that she shares practice with.
